Nursing Students and Graduates :Behavioral Health
If you want variety, personal interaction and a positive learning experience, the behavioral health unit at UMHC makes you an instrumental part of a multidisciplinary-treatment-team approach where your input is not only respected, but expected.
Our behavioral health patients actively participate in the formulation of their treatment plan, which is based on a broad assessment that includes factors such as emotional and behavioral symptoms, medical and neurological status, functioning ability, family and social status, and relative strengths and weaknesses. Professionals from a variety of disciplines staff the unit, including registered nurses, psychiatric technicians, recreational therapists, social workers, art therapists and occupational therapists.
Clinical research trials are also an important feature of the unit. These trials not only provide staff members with an opportunity to participate in the pioneering of improved and innovative treatment modalities, but also present an exceptional educational experience.
