Student Nurse Externship

The application process for the 2009 Summer Student Externship Program is now closed.

Program Dates
The eight-week program begins May 26, 2009 and ends July 24, 2009. The SNE is precepted by a registered nurse with a minimum of one year's clinical experience.

If you have been accepted:
If you are accepted for a 2009 Student Nurse Extern position, the following must be submitted on the first day of employment.

    Please print this document and have your school of nursing complete this form.

  2. Official registrar transcript through 2009 spring semester. 

  3. Official registrar copy of letter of good standing through 2009 spring semester.

About the Program
This eight-week program is open to nursing students who have completed one academic year or two clinical semesters. SNEs provide nursing care under the direction of a preceptor.

The Student Nurse Externship Program provides students with the opportunity to work in a health care setting under the guidance of a preceptor.

The program provides students with an opportunity to refine nursing skills and build confidence while working as a full-time nurse.
