The application process for the 2009 Summer Student Externship Program is now closed.
Program Dates
The eight-week program begins May 26, 2009 and ends July 24, 2009. The SNE is precepted by a registered nurse with a minimum of one year's clinical experience.

If you are accepted for a 2009 Student Nurse Extern position, the following must be submitted on the first day of employment.

- Official registrar transcript through 2009 spring semester.
- Official registrar copy of letter of good standing through 2009 spring semester.
About the Program
This eight-week program is open to nursing students who have completed one academic year or two clinical semesters. SNEs provide nursing care under the direction of a preceptor.
The Student Nurse Externship Program provides students with the opportunity to work in a health care setting under the guidance of a preceptor.
The program provides students with an opportunity to refine nursing skills and build confidence while working as a full-time nurse.
