Student nurses benefit from real-world experience. At UMHC, we offer exciting student nursing programs that give students hands-on experience that only a teaching hospital can provide.
Health Care Professional Student Loan
The University of Mississippi Health Care has an established plan that provides educational assistance for the benefit of future registered nurse employees of University of Mississippi Health Care.
Applications for the Fall 2009 Health Care Professional Student Loan Program are now available.
Appointments with the Office of Nurse Recruitment will be scheduled after September 1.
Free tuition for nurses
We believe that the best way to improve care is to invest in our people, and we strongly support your educational pursuits. So we offer nurses paid tuition for two courses up to six (6) hours per semester at any University of Mississippi campus, including University of Mississippi Medical Center. Whether you’re expanding your knowledge base or working on a baccalaureate, master’s or doctoral degree plan, you’ll find a supportive environment that gives you access to courses taught by experts in their fields.
Scholarships for Dependents
Your children can also benefit from your involvement with UMHC. Single, dependent children of regular, full-time UMHC nurses are eligible for a scholarship covering half the normal tuition at any University of Mississippi campus, including University of Mississippi Medical Center.
