We are listening...
In the moment we slow down our busyness and spend time with one another, we take time to build lasting work relationships. We learn from each other and learn to appreciate each other. We learn that, as we build each other up, we strengthen and grow.
This is an exciting time of change, and there is more to come! To become the best of the best in every service area, we are getting to know one another, communicating more with one another, challenging one another, and feeling part of something on the edge of greatness.
Through the Nursing Advisory Council, the Leadership Forum, CNO Briefings, Town Meetings, and Magnet projects we are hearing you. We know that we must become the Employer of Choice to be the best of the best.
In March, we convened four sessions to bring Unit Clerks together. Our goals were to express appreciation for the important part they play in our team, communicate changes, ask for support in professionalism and communication, and receive feedback. What a dedicated group of people with good ideas and the ability to express them in a positive way.
Many are utilizing the Virtual Suggestion Box (Intranet > Hot Spots > Virtual Suggestion Box) to document needs, ask questions, and let us know what is getting better. We ask all of you to do the same in the spirit of professionalism and concern.
It is a documented fact that a strong workforce is the key to being the Employer of Choice, and the best of the best. We ask you to join senior leadership in focusing every effort on making University Hospital * the most welcoming, friendly, professional place to work and be a patient. As you know, taking the time to add that touch of kindness in a busy place makes all the difference in the patient experience. You do that so well.
Let me express my appreciation for all you do and what a pleasure it is to be on your team! Please let us know if we are listening enough.
* University Hospital means the Adult Services, including Wiser, Critical Care and the new Hospital
