We Have Heard You!
Thanks so much to everyone who participated in the Employee Opinion Survey. Thanks to you we had a 69% participation rate throughout the hospital; that is fantastic! Now that the results are back and your feedback has been analyzed, the real work begins.
The survey results help us to look at three strategic initiatives -workforce commitment, turnover vulnerability and RN turnover vulnerability. Our responses have been compiled and benchmarked against the national health care average and the national academic health care average.
Overall hospital scores have been received as well as a breakdown by unit or workgroup. As you would expect, our strengths were identified as were opportunities for improvement. It is clear, from the results, that we have a strong focus on quality and on our customers. Across the board, we have opportunities to better recognize and involve staff, in addition to new opportunity in the pay and benefits area.
Each manager with more than five employees has been given access to his/her unit specific reports. In the next few weeks meetings will be held in your workgroup to address the results and to look for opportunities to improve our workplace.
Key points for discussion will revolve around:
- Overall, how did we do?
- What are we doing well?
- What are our concerns?
- What specific items do we need to work on?
- What are the causes behind our scores?
- What actions do we need to take?
We will target areas of lower scores, determine the causes behind those scores and focus action plans to improve those areas. Your input will be invaluable in development of these plans. Each manager will be accountable for implementation of plans in the respective work group to address areas of opportunity. Plan to be actively involved in this process as we continue to drive improvements in our workplace. I thank you, in advance, for the contributions that you will make in this effort. We strive to be the best of the best!
