I've been a nurse at UMC for 36 years. I was shopping at the mall when a woman came up to me and said, ‘Your name is Ivory. I could never forget your smiling face.’
She told me that she could not have made it through labor without me. She then turned to the young man who was with her and said, ‘This is the baby.’ He’s 21 now.
As they hugged me, it made me realize why I went into nursing in the first place. I’m a nurse and UMC is my choice.
